Ergonomic Room Design

Ergonomic considerations are imperative when designing command and mission-critical control rooms. EVANS Federal designers perform an ergonomic review of each project  integrating the most up-to-date ergonomic standards and guidelines into all of our product designs. We work to determine specific features and standards that are essential to your industry or location and ensure that they are incorporated into your design. Our team also provides additional suggestions and solutions to maximize space and operational efficiency.

As part of the design process, EVANS Federal evaluates the room layout, operator interaction, traffic patterns, and sightlines to optimize workflow. All our components reduce the most common ergonomic risk factors within the control room environment, such as repetitive tasks, awkward postures, and static forces.

EVANS Federal solutions are designed to meet all furniture industry standards, including Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturer's Association (BIFMA) standards.

EVANS’ Federal design team also follows these guidelines:

  • International Organization for Standardization (ISO 11064);
  • Ergonomics of Human-System Interaction (ISO 9241-400);
  • Underwriters Laboratory (UL);
  • American National Standards Institute/Board of Standards Review (ANSI/BSR);
  • ANSI/HFES 100-2007 (Human Factors Engineering of Computer Workstations); and
  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
